World Neighbors was founded in 1951 and was based on the Judeo-Christian tradition of neighbors helping their neighbors. Even though World Neighbors was founded by a religious group, it is non-sectarian. World Neighbors is a purely developmental organization. They only deal with long term programs that improve the way of life of the people in the region. The two main types of programs are sustainable agriculture and health education. A few types of agricultural programs they organize include pesticide replacement, forest restoration, and improving farming methods.
